About the Role

We are building cutting-edge software solutions for the Automotive industry, and the Solutions Architect is responsible for defining solutions for Summit Automotive’s current and future enterprise platform customers, addressing all business requirements.  You will essentially contribute to the team by:


  • Work closely with customers to develop the product solution and understand their specific requirements
  • Implement the changes and customisations on the platform to meet those requirements following fundamental architectural concepts 
  • Integrate the platform with customer systems to make the overall solution work for the customer, ensuring that the enterprise solution, relevant systems and data sources are appropriately integrated. 


Reporting to the Lead EA this is a permanent and hands-on Solution Architect role, with key stakeholder management of the Development teams.  Based out of our Warwick/Leamington office (fully remotely for now) it provides an opportunity to work across exciting software projects for some of the biggest multinational car manufacturers and dealer networks. The Automotive teams are based in Warwick and central London (Soho), with strategic partners throughout Europe.

Our technologies include, but are not limited to: SaaS and microservices based software design, Docker, React, PHP, Symfony, Magento, Composer, MySQL, Linux Bash Scripting, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm Charts, Git, VSTS Pipelines, Terraform, Atlassian Tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket), ElasticSearch, Kibana, RabbitMQ and more.

Job Requirements

About you

You will have a strong background in designing highly scaleable web and enterprise applications having worked as Solutions Architect previously, along with:

  • Experience designing architecture for cloud (AWS/Azure) utilising industry standard methodologies and frameworks
  • Extensive experience in designing APIs and web services 
  • Strong architectural governance - the ability to identify solution architecture risks and propose alternatives 
  • Experience of running solutions training sessions and workshops for clients
  • eCommerce experience - Magento, Demandware, Hybris
  • Infrastructure - Linux/Unix, Virtualisation 
  • Development/coding background - PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc to be able to coach and stakeholder manage delivery of development team. 
  • Systems thinking - the ability to see how parts interact with the whole (big picture thinking)
  • Ability to explain complex technical issues in a way that non-technical people may understand
  • Strong stakeholder management and engagement, communication and presentation skills.

Ideally, the candidate will have in-depth knowledge of multiple stages in the typical customer lifecycle, across retail, automotive or other industries.
